Indigenous Education
We at School District 5 would like to acknowledge that we are on the Homelands of the Ktunaxa People.
The Ministry of Education and Child Care is responsible for Indigenous Education in the BC public school system from kindergarten to grade 12. Indigenous Education seeks to improve success and supports for Indigenous students, and increase the presence of Indigenous culture, languages and history for all students. It also aims to help teachers bring Indigenous knowledge into their teaching practice.
Our District is committed to the education of our students of Indigenous ancestry.
